Two USP students together with two Law students formed a team to compete in the inaugural Asia-Pacific Commercial Mediation Competition. The team came first in the competition.

The team comprises:
Lim Wei Shen Mark (Law + USP, Class of 2019)
Cheah Wenjie (Law + USP, Class of 2019)
Cheng Le En Leanne (Law, Class of 2019)
Liu Siew Rong (Law, Class of 2019)

Held in Melbourne, Australia, from 7 - 9 July 2017, the competition was organised by the Australia International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) as a regional round leading up to the annual Paris ICC Mediation competition. The winning team also gets an opportunity to represent Singapore in the ICC International Commercial Mediation Competition in Paris in February 2018. There were 14 teams competing from countries across the Asia Pacific region, and NUS Law competed against: the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology; Melbourne University; Monash University; the University of New South Wales (Preliminary Finals); and the University of Auckland (Finals). The competition is a platform for university students to gain valuable skills in mediation, an essential area of dispute resolution in international commercial law.
