Former USP Writer-in-Residence and His Multiple Award-Winning Film

Singapore-made feature film A Land Imagined – a film with USP-The Arts House’s 2013 writer-in-residence Daniel (Dan) Koh as the associate producer and script consultant – has brought the country's film industry on to the international stage since its first release in August 2018. The film has received the Golden Leopard Prize (the highest accolade at the prestigious Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland) and the Best Asian Feature at the 2018 Singapore Film Festival. More recently, the film bagged two prizes at the Golden Horse Awards in Taiwan, for best original screenplay and best original film score. The film has also been selected as Singapore's entry to Oscars 2020. This is just amazing!

Some 30 USP students and alums attended the film’s final public screening on 15 December at The Projector. It was interesting as the audience had the opportunity that afternoon to interact and exchange views with the film's director and producers during the question-and-answer segment after the screening. Equally important, we wanted to show our support for Dan’s hard work and celebrate his achievement.

Congrats to Dan and his team!
