UNIT 3: Independent Research

Week 9 (16-20 March): Introduction to Unit 3: From Area of Interest to Topic

  • Meeting 1: Paper 2 Conferences (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday)
  • Meeting 2: Introduction to Unit 3: discussion of Paper 3 Assignment. Sign up for presentations. Area of interest, topic, and case.

Week 10 (23-27 March): Paper 3: Topic Workshop and Library Instruction Tutorial

Week 11 (30 March - 3 April): Presentations of Annotated Bibliographies
  • Meeting 1: First set of presentations. Your draft workshop will take place one week after your presentation, and your conference draft will be due 10 days after today.
  • Meeting 2: Second set of presentations. Your draft workshop will take place one week after your presentation, and your conference draft will be 10 days after today

Week 12 (6-10 April): Draft workshops

  • Meeting 1: Draft workshop: students who presented on 30 March.
  • Meeting 2: Draft workshop: students who presented on 2 April.
    Paper 3 conference draft due Friday 10 April, 9 am, for those who presented on 30 March: upload a soft copy to the IVLE Workbin Conference Drafts folder.

Week 13 (13-17 April): Conferences

  • Meeting 1: No class meetings: conferences with students who presented on 30 March (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday). Preparation.
    Paper 3 conference draft due Monday 13 April, 9 am, for those who presented on 31 October: upload a soft copy to the IVLE Workbin Conference Drafts folder.
  • Meeting 2: No class meetings: conferences with students who presented on 2 April (Wednesday, Thursday, Friday). Preparation.

The final draft of your Paper 3 is one due one week after your conference. Upload your paper to the Final Drafts folder of the IVLE Workbin and remember to place a hard copy of the paper (with your commented first draft attached) in my post box, Blk ADM Level 5.
