Preparation:
As the editors of The City Reader note, Jane
Jacob's work is in part a reaction to "modern planning practice
in the Corbusian tradition ...with its insistence on skyscraper
blocks and skyscraper developments" (106).

you think through the issues raised by the readings. Pick
