Week 3 (Jan 20-24): Conferences

Meeting 1: Sources/Peer Reviews. Preparation. First draft of paper one due

UNIT TWO: METROPOLITAN LIFE / AN ARGUMENT USING TWO SOURCES

Week 4 (Jan 27-31): Introducing Metropolitan Life

Meeting 1: Screening of Blade Runner. Final draft of paper one due. Paper two assignment

Meeting 2: No class: Chinese New Year

Week 5 (Feb 3-7): The Street

Meeting 1: "The Metropolis and Mental Life." Preparation.

Meeting 2: Maggie. Preparation.

Week 6 (Feb 10-14): Sidewalks

Meeting 1: The City of Tomorrow? Preparation.

Week 7 (Feb 17-21): Peer Reviews & Conferences

Meeting 1: Peer Review.Those scheduled to do a peer review today must distribute their drafts 36 hours before class. For everyone else the first draft is due today. Preparation.

Week 10 (Mar 10-14): Public Housing

Meeting 1: Modernism and Vernacular. Preparation.

Meeting 2: No class meeting. Library research seminar, Cyberarts lab. The seminar will go for about an hour. The rest of classtime can be used to conduct research in the library.

Week 11 (Mar 17-21): Presentations on Public Spaces

Meeting 1: Presentations. Preparation.

Meeting 2: Presentations. Preparation.

Week 12 (Mar 24-28): Criticism/Peer Reviews

Meeting 1: Singapore Songlines.  Preparation

Meeting 2: No class

Week 13 (Mar 31-Apr 4): Peer Reviews
