Cyberart Studio

The Cyberart Studio enables students who take modules in the studio to be trained in various fields. These include cyberart, digital media production, cyberculture, information society and scientific visualisation through intensive studio-based workshops, seminars and guest lectures. The Cyberart Studio houses 22 Macintosh G5 PowerMac stations capable of handling digital painting, digital photography, video editing, animation, midi, internet technologies, etc.

Students taking modules in the studio can access the Cyberart Studio using their matriculation card 8:30am – 6:00pm (Mondays to Thurs) and 8:30am – 5:30pm (Friday).

Rules & Regulations

  • Students are advised to save their work files into zip disks or burn them into CD rather than clutter the computer desktop with their files.
  • Students are not allowed to take any user manuals or tutorial booklets out of the studio without permission from the lecturer or studio administrator.
  • Students should not be working in the studio if another class is in progress. (Students can check available time slots for the studio from the timetable pasted outside the studio. Alternatively, they can contact the studio administrator.)
  • Students should keep the studio clean at all times.

Students should contact the studio administrator in #05-02 if they encounter the following difficulties:

  • Difficulty in Accessing the studio door with their matriculation card.
  • Difficulty in Using Macintosh G5 PowerMac and other resources.
  • Difficulty in Backup their work files.

The Cyberart Studio houses a variety of equipment designed to cater to students involved in digital projects:

The lecturer's console is equipped with a computer, microphones, a mixer, a VCR player, a DVD player and an amplifier which is ideal for presentations and movie screening.
These computers are for video editing projects done by students.
