Have you ever wondered, what can be done with our pair of hands? Yes, everything else besides our daily necessities, our daily activities? Have you ever felt like there is just so much to do, yet it all just seems so beyond what you can do?
Fret not, for we are here to make you feel even more confused, by providing you with the experience!
Big Hands, Bigger Hearts 3 (BHBH3) is an overseas Youth Expedition Project to Bago City, Philippines. It is scheduled for mid-May 2007 till early June 2007, and is expected to last 18-20 days.
BHBH3 will be focusing on improving education in as many ways as possible in Bago City. A day-care centre is scheduled for construction, after which it would serve as a centre for a myriad of purposes – a day-care centre for young children, a library, a reading corner, and a centre for volunteerism by the local college students.
BHBH3 will also be raising funds towards a “feeding programme”, where malnourished children will be sponsored nutritious food once a week for a school year. The team will also be making general donations to various lower income villages through the course of the project.
The experience does not end here. Members can look forward to experience Filipino culture through various cross-cultural exchanges, experience the harshness of life through engagements with lower income areas, learn more about volunteerism, community service and lifeskills, and most importantly, find out more about themselves through the course of the project.
