Expected Expenditures

NUS/USP will subsidize two-thirds and students will bear one-third of the overseas cost. In addition to NUS tuition fees for Semester 1 AY2009-10, the expected expenditures for each student will be S$750 (partly covering for the costs of airfare, travel insurance, and accommodation, fieldtrip expenses and course fees at Peking University). On top of the S$750, you have to pay for your daily meals during the period. You will be issued with a student ID card which will enable you to enter all the student canteens on campus.

USP will arrange to purchase two-way air tickets for you (Departure date: 28 June morning & Return date: 11 July evening). Should you, for one reason or another, decide to arrive in Beijing earlier and/or return to Singapore later than the above-mentioned dates, you will need to purchase the two-way air tickets by yourself as well as make your own arrangements to meet up with the instructor and the rest of the class in Beijing. The Programme will reimburse your air fare not exceeding an amount that is incurred for the other students. For instance, if it costs the Programme S$800 on the round-trip ticket for each student, you may make a claim for the costs of the air tickets that you purchase, up to and not exceeding S$800. To make a claim, you need to produce the air tickets and/or receipt.
